Art for Arts Sake!
I am intrigued with artists from the Renaissance period through contemporary art. Through my years of learning and teaching art, I have grown to fully appreciate every artists. They have inspired the use of my ability to create fine art that explores the relationship of subject, content and composition.
My work thrives on an emotional inner strength to create the world as I see or to play with it to represent how I understand. My use of the medium speaks volumes in the art created. It is a powerful and volatile combination for expression whether realistic or representational.
My art is a subconscious invitation to the eye of the viewer. I implore you to view my work as a visual entrance into a world of your own, beyond my eye.
Biography: Born in Chambersburg, PA. Attended Mansfield University, PA. Graduated 1996; Bachelor of Science in Art Education. Currently teaching at South Western High School in Hanover, PA. Professional Educator since 1997.
The exposure to private art lessons at a young age gave me the ability to build and grow on my inherent talent. With technical qualities and understanding under my belt, my first direction was painting which emerged in high school and peaked in college. My approach was a non-objective nature stemming from the emotional roller coaster to determine lifes direction. I loved to simply throw color at the canvas, step back and see what would appear. My love of the abstract stroke and others opinions to my work grew into a wide realm of color-imaged expressionism on the canvas.
More recently, becoming a motorcycle instructor lead me down a path to join the two things I love most - painting and riding. Since 2002 I have used the motorcycle as a subject matter to capture the nostaglia I felt while riding. My paintings and prints of these bikes represent the freedom.
My most current endeavors have taken me back to the fine art of pencil and charcoal. I am currently on a course to create the world as I see it in black and white.
I am accepting commissioned work.
